Welcome!
The history of our school
The history of our school begins on 12th March 1999. On that day the City Council of D±browa Górnicza decided to found a new school in Z±bkowice - Gimnazjum no 9.
The building of the former Primary School no 22 became the building our school. The first headteacher of Gimnazjum no 9 was Mrs Lucyna Paluchiewicz. After one year, students from Gimnazjum no 11, which was closed down, started attending our school. At that time students learned in three buildings - the main one and two others located in Primary School no 31 and in Primary School in Tucznawa (a district of D±browa Górnicza). Since the school year 2003/2004, the school has been located in one building only, which is much more comfortable both for teachers and students.
Currently the headteacher of our school is Mrs Małgorzata Barnowska. She supervises and organises work of 48 teachers and 494 students.
All of the students attending our school, live in districts of D±browa Górnicza - Z±bkowice, Tucznawa and Ujejsce.
The school has got two modern classrooms, equipped with computers having access to Internet. Our students are successful in lots of different competitions. Our badminton and orienteering teams are unbeatable in our town. Apart from that we have a school paper "Gimnazetka" and a school website. In the afternoons, our students participate in different classes organised by school clubs such as: European Club or Active Viewer Club. No one may get bored in Gimnazjum no 9.
